The Processtec SafeStrainer is a sanitary filtration component designed to protect process equipment and maintain product integrity in demanding production environments. It removes solids from process streams while ensuring safe operation in hygienic industries such as food, beverage, pet food, and personal care processing. Its integrated pressure-release and safety-lock mechanism allows the housing to be opened safely during maintenance by releasing internal pressure before the filter element is removed. This design reduces risks typically associated with high-pressure or high-temperature process systems. Built from AISI 316 stainless steel, the SafeStrainer provides reliable filtration performance, robust construction, and straightforward maintenance for sanitary production lines.
SafeStrainer Design and Filtration Options

Available filter element options include:
- Mesh filters for fine particle removal
- Wedgewire filters for durable filtration and backwash operation
- Perforated cylindrical elements for coarse filtration applications
Filtration ranges can be configured from 2 µm to 5000 µm, allowing the system to adapt to different process conditions and product characteristics.
The housing also supports multiple flow configurations, including inside-to-outside and outside-to-inside filtration, making integration into existing process lines straightforward.
